St. Peter's Abbey

One of the oldest abbeys in Burgundy

Founded in 630, the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Pierre de Bèze is one of the oldest in Burgundy.

It was indeed the fourth of the Merovingian abbeys in the diocese of Langres (after Moûtiers-Saint-Jean, Saint-Bénigne, and Saint-Seine). Its surviving buildings date primarily from the 18th century. Welcome to its English-style park, redesigned in the 19th century, and to its buildings listed as Historical Monuments.

The village

Strolling through these alleyways

The medieval alleyways, the houses with typical facades, the historic wash houses surrounded by flowers create a bucolic atmosphere perfect for beautiful photographs.

The source of the Bèze

This is where the river that gave the village its name originates. A pleasant walk along the river then leads to the village center.

Upcoming events

The village also offers exhibitions of local art and crafts, traditional markets, festivals and concerts...
